Nettle beer 'not alcopop'
A family business is to take the taxman to court over its ruling that their stinging nettle "beer" is an alcopop.
Foodswild, which produces the 4.5 per cent alcohol Cornish Stingers is taking HM Revenue and Customs to a tribunal over its ruling that because it does not contain malt, it is not beer. As an alcopop, it would be in a higher tax bracket.
