Joe Wicks has announced that he will be relaunching his live "PE lessons" as England enters a third national lockdown.

The fitness entrepreneur, also known as The Body Coach, created the weekly online exercise sessions when the UK went into lockdown for the first time in March 2020 as a way of keeping children fit.

One of his classes helped Wicks achieve a Guinness World Record, with nearly a million people tuning in live to watch.

In October, the 34-year-old was made an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list, having raised £580,000 for the NHS through his online workouts.

Now, Wicks has revealed that he will be bringing his hugely popular virtual exercise sessions back, as all primary and secondary schools and colleges in England are to close for most pupils from now until February half-term.

“PE with Joe is back,” Wicks wrote in a caption below an Instagram post of himself announcing the news.

The new classes will begin on Monday 11 January at 9am on Wicks’ YouTube channel.

“I am committing to three live sessions per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am(UK time),” he wrote.

"They will be 20 minutes long and designed for children. Please please share this with as many families as you can and let your schools know so they can notify the parents ASAP and we can get as many young children taking part.

“This is so important for our children’s emotional and mental health.”

You can take part in Wicks’ classes by heading to his YouTube channel at 9am on Monday 11 January.
