Priyanka Chopra’s walks down the aisle to marry Nick Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has admitted she judged her husband Nick Jonas before fully getting to know him, saying she never expected their relationship to develop in the way that it did.

On Thursday, the Isn't It Romantic star opened up about her relationship with Jonas while speaking at the 10th annual Women in the World summit in New York City.

When asked why the "Close" singer made such an impression on her prior to their marriage, Chopra Jonas said: "I didn't think that this would be what it turned out to be.

"That's maybe my fault, I judged a book by its cover."

The couple announced their engagement in August 2018, following months of speculation that they may be romantically involved.

Before confirming their relationship, the pair made their first public appearance together at the 2017 Met Gala.

While they tied the knot in December 2018 four months after their engagement, Chopra Jonas explained that she had already known Jonas for two years.

During her appearance at the Women in the World summit, the Bollywood star revealed that she has an unusual pet name for her husband - "Old Man Jonas".

"He's such an old soul, extremely smart, so good for me because he grounds me so much," Chopra Jonas said of the 26-year-old.

"I'm a wild child, I do whatever I want whenever I want, and he always supports me."

Chopra Jonas spoke about a sweet interaction she shared with Jonas early on in their relationship, while on a date with friends.

When the actor received a call that she had a meeting to attend, she expected the Jonas Brothers singer to say that she should cancel the appointment.

However, his response took her by surprise.

“'I will never be the one to tell you to cancel work, because I know how hard you’ve worked to be where you are, so if you could’ve cancelled it, you would’ve done it'," the singer said, according to Chopra Jonas.

"I was like, ‘That’s the first time someone’s ever done that’," she added.
