Size-22 fashion blogger wants to inspire all women to feel confident

A size-22 fashion blogger has responded to trolls with the message that women should feel sexy and confident no matter what they weigh.

Jessica Millichamp, 30, runs the Instagram and blog Jess on the Plus Size, where she shares photos of her latest outfit finds and messages of body confidence, as well as unfiltered photos of her acne, cellulite and “tatty” underwear.

But according to the 30-year-old dental receptionist from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, she didn’t always have the confidence in her appearance that she has now - which she flaunts in the hopes of encouraging other women with insecurities.

In a recent Instagram post, Millichamp revealed to her more than 25,000 followers that she used to hate her body and “loathed” herself for not being able to lose weight.

“I don’t know what changed my way of thinking and it definitely didn’t happen overnight, but what I do know is that feeling so sh*tty about yourself is not a nice way to live,” she wrote. “This is why I share my story, not because I want to promote obesity (this is aimed at all the ignorant trolls) but because there are so many people who feel like I did and they do not deserve to live like that.”

Millichamp has previously discussed her battles with her weight, and years of yo-yo dieting which eventually lead her to embrace the body she has.

“I’ve always been overweight but I’ve also always been reasonably fit,” she wrote on one photo.

The plus-size blogger’s message has resonated with thousands of others who are inspired by her confidence and her empowering message.

“Yes! It’s not about promoting obesity it’s about promoting acceptance!” one person agreed.

Another said: “You’re amazing Jess. You’ve helped my confidence in what I wear and I’m starting to be at peace with my size and appearance! Thank you for sharing your story.”

According to Millichamp, she just wants people of all sizes to wear what they want and feel confident because "nobody is perfect."
