Weetabix recalls Oatibix Flakes over fears pieces of blue soft rubber could be in boxes

Weetabix has asked customers who have bought 550g packets of the cereal to throw away the box

Customers who have bought packets of Oatibix Flakes have been urged to check packets for pieces of blue soft rubber that could have got inside.

Weetabix has asked customers who have bought 550g packets of the cereal with best before dates between January 18 and January 21, 2017, to throw away the box and seek a refund from them.

In a recall notice on the Food Standards Agency website, Weetabix said:

"We are advising consumers who have already bought a pack from these batch numbers to dispose of the product and contact us for a refund."

Oatibix Flakes in 550g packets with the following dates are affected:

  • Best Before Date: 18/01/2017 6018
  • Best Before Date: 19/01/2017 6019
  • Best Before Date: 20/01/2017 6020
  • Best Before Date: 21/01/2017 6021

The FSA said that no other batches or products are known to be affected.

Customers who bought packets within these best before dates are asked to send a photograph of the best before date on the box to consumerservice@weetabix.comor to send the strip from the top of the packet to:
