The Independent on Sunday: Tougher punishments expected for bankers

Bankers who behave negligently must receive harsh penalties, including fines and bans from both the City and from being company directors, the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards is set to say. The all-party commission's hotly anticipated report will be unveiled this week, and Treasury sources said they did not expect the Chancellor to disagree with the thrust of its recommendations.

The Sunday Times: Boss who quit in 2001 claims £50,000 relocation expenses

A former chief executive of the industrial controls group Invensys has claimed relocation expenses almost 12 years after leaving the company under a cloud. Allen Yurko is understood to want about £50,000 to help to fund his move back to America this month. Mr Yurko's contract did not put an expiry date on his right to a repatriation package. He resigned in summer 2001 and left the following January.

The Mail on Sunday: Russian firm could build nuclear plants in UK

Britain has signed a deal with Moscow that could pave the way for Russia's state-owned nuclear power company Rosatom to build plants in the UK. The agreement to set up a joint working group on the future of nuclear power comes as the Government remains locked in negotiations with the French group EDF over the construction of a new nuclear power station in Somerset.

Dan Wagner, Britain's original dot.com millionaire, is to return to the public markets for the first time in more than a decade with the £170m flotation of the ecommerce business Venda. Venda helps to power websites for clients including Tesco, Jimmy Choo and the BBC. It was built with the assets of Boo.com, the poster child of the dot.com bubble.
