Haunting photos taken around the world depict how coronavirus has left normally bustling places deserted.

Before-and-after pictures show markets, tourist hot spots and streets empty – as they have never been seen in daylight before.

From the famous Charles Bridge in Prague to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, these popular sites bring to mind a world in which people everywhere are staying safely behind closed doors and avoiding all social contact.

Almost 190,000 cases of Covid-19 have been identified across the globe.
