Bernie Sanders has showed voters his fun side by dancing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

With well-known song ‘Disco Inferno’ playing in the background, the 74-year-old Democratic presidential candidate was filmed clapping and bopping backstage while waiting for his interview, set to air on Thursday night.

During the interview, filmed on Wednesday, host Ellen DeGeneres and Mr Sanders discussed politics and his comments regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails at the Democratic debate, which had taken place the previous day.

But they ended it with a round of light-hearted quick-fire questions, to which the politician provided some entertaining answers.

Mr Sanders replied “Bern Baby Bern” when the host asked which Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavour he would be, and said that ‘Saturday Night Fever’ would be his karaoke song - although he struggled to remember its name.

He also said Marco Rubio was the Republican presidential candidate he would pick to be on a deserted island with because, “he’s used to the sun”, ABC News reported.

Responding to a question about whether he had ever been in handcuffs, Mr Sanders replied: “I don’t know exactly what you mean by that.”

He then said he was arrested when protesting at a civil rights rally.

Mr Sanders is not the first candidate to dance on the show. Hillary Clinton showed her moves alongside artist Pink and comedian Amy Schumer in September.
