A French airline has apologised to a porn actress after a member of staff responded to her Twitter complaint by suggesting that they would sleep with her.

Nikita Bellucci tweeted to the Air France subsidiary Transavia to complain that her flight from Budapest had been delayed.

“Can we have some information about Flight TO3743. It’s been deleted four times this morning. There’s no information in Budapest,” she wrote to @TransaviaFR, according to a translation by The Local.Fr.

Aware of Ms Bellucci’s profession, the staff member manning the airline’s Twitter account replied: “Flight is scheduled for 14.30. It’s just that with you, we prefer when it lasts longer. Have a good day. I remain available."

Unamused, Ms Bellucci hit back in a tweet that was later deleted, and vowed to never use the firm, The Huffington Post reported.

After Twitter users rallied in support of Ms Belluci, the airline apologised.

“I am sorry you were offended by this joke. I was just trying to lighten the mood. Again, I’m sorry. The plane will leave shortly,” Transavia said.

Ms Bellucci later tweeted: “In France, unfortunately I have noticed that if you are a porn star, you don’t have the right to want to cultivate your mind and you must not share your opinions on the news. Open your thighs, look beautiful and shut up… is all that’s allowed.

“That’s all we expect of you, nothing more," she said.
