A woman died in a fire inside a train toilet yesterday afternoon.

British Transport Police believe the incident, in which the 43-year-old victim was said to have suffered from severe burns, was not an accident and nobody else was involved.

Passengers reported smoke coming from the toilet as the London Midland service from Northampton to London Euston approached Leighton Buzzard, where the train stopped and was evacuated.
