The Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly, Northern Ireland Assembly, London Assembly, and Mayor of London were up for election on Thursday, with around 16 million people eligible to vote in England alone.
Some local councils in England, and police and crime commissioners across England and Wales were also chosen.
In London, Labour’s Sadiq Khan had a significant lead over the Conservatives’ Zac Goldsmith – but there was still room for an upset.

Show all 10North of the border in Scotland the Scottish National Party lost their absolute majority as the Tories surged to second place in Holyrood, after a disastrous night for Labour.
But the party maintained control in the Welsh Assembly, where Ukip won its first ever seats.
In all, 2,700 seats were contested in 124 English councils, and all police and crime commissioners in England were to be decided.
Liverpool, Salford and Bristol have seen mayoral showdowns and Labour defended Ogmore and Sheffield Brightside in two parliamentary by-elections.
