Theresa May dances on stage at Conservative party conference

Theresa May sent herself up at the start of her keynote conference speech by dancing on to the stage to the music of 1970s Swedish pop group Abba.

The prime minister strutted out to the tune of ‘Dancing Queen’, smiling and drawing cheers from the crowds.

She recently grabbed headlines when she repeatedly danced at diplomatic events on a trip to Africa.

Initially she was filmed dancing with schoolchildren in Cape Town on the first day of her visit.

The prime minister is seen shuffling left and right and smiling at the pupils who are dancing opposite to her.

Two days later Ms May showed off more of her moves when she met a group of scouts in Kenya.

In the footage, which was shared widely on social media, Ms May is seen copying a routine being performed by the group opposite her, raising her hands to the sky.
