Donald Trump has called for the US Senate to change the way it votes in order for him to pass his proposed legislation more quickly.

In his latest intervention on the issue, Mr Trump called on Congress to pass a healthcare and tax overhaul.

“The U.S. Senate should switch to 51 votes, immediately, and get Healthcare and TAX CUTS approved, fast and easy. Dems (Democrats) would do it, no doubt!” Mr Trump wrote on Twitter.

Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rejected the idea.
