Francis Coquelin returned to Arsenal first-team training and could make a return against Olympiacos, Arsene Wenger confirmed.

The French midfielder has been a breakout star for the Gunners since returning to the club from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season.

He picked up a minor knee injury in the defeat at Chelsea, being withdrawn at half-time, and was forced to miss the Capital One Cup victory over Tottenham and the 5-2 Premier League win at Leicester City on Saturday.

But speaking at his press conference ahead of the match, Wenger said that Coquelin has returned to training and is available for selection.

"Coquelin is back in training since yesterday. He looks alright," said the Frenchman.

However, he is still missing both Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta who both have "slight muscular problems."

Olivier Giroud will miss the game because of the red card he picked up against Dinamo Zagrev, while Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky remain long-term injury concerns.

Gabriel Paulista is also available again after serving his one-match ban.
