Bayern furious with Holland over Robben injury
Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has stoked the fire once more after he claimed Netherlands physiotherapist Dick van Toorn needs glasses for failing to spot Arjen Robben's thigh injury during the World Cup.
The argument has rumbled on throughout the summer with the former Chelsea and Real Madrid man set to miss the opening two months of Bayern's Bundesliga campaign.
Hoeness is sure that club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt would have spotted the problem and the Bavarians are seeking compensation from the Dutch FA.
He said: "We have in Muller-Wohlfahrt the best sports doctor in the world with a success rate of 100 per cent. If Mr Van Toorn cannot recognise the injury then he should buy himself some glasses.
"It was negligent of the Dutch to let Robben play for even a single second at the World Cup. He played injured at the tournament and we are now paying the cost.
"That can surely not be right. We are demanding compensation."
