Eto'o admits to missing life in Spain

Former Barcelona striker Sauel Eto'o has admitted he is missing life in Spain after making a summer move to Italian side Internazionale.

The Cameroon international traded places with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and has enjoyed a relatively successful season so far, scoring ten goals under the guidance of coach Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to World Soccer, he said: "It was hard after 13 years in Spain and I miss the life I had at Barcelona.

"But despite these difficulties I am trying to adapt to the reality in Milan. My objective is to win the same trophies I won at Barcelona with Inter."

Eto'o won the Champions League twice with Barcelona, scoring in both the 2006 and 2009 finals against Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

The agent of Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has claimed that his client came close to agreeing a move to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old Romania international is currently suspended after failing a routine drugs test, with agent Giovanni Becali revealing that things could have worked out very differently.

He told the Romanian media: "Adrian was very close to joining Milan in the course of the last session of the transfer market.

"I was the one to propose the move to the Milan directors. If they had managed to send Klaas-Jan Huntelaar elsewhere then there was every chance Mutu would have transferred to Milan."

Meanwhile La Viola's Italy defender Alessandro Gamberini could miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The 28-year-old was injured in the 2-0 defeat to Sampdoria last weekend and will be out for at least two months.

A club statement confirmed: "Alessandro Gamberini has undergone surgery to the capsular ligaments of his shoulder. The operation was technically successful.

"The defender will face three weeks rest before he starts rehabilitation. The full recovery time is estimated at two and a half months."
