The biggest embarrassment of all time.
That’s how Sport, one of the big two Catalan newspapers, has described Barcelona’s loss at Anfield against Liverpool to crash out of the Champions League.
The Reds stunned the Spanish champions 4-0, a year on from a similar collapse against Roma last season at the Stadio Olimpico.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo simply caption a picture of Barcelona players looking dejected with: “Blush.”
They add: “A Barcelona without life collapses at Anfield. A ridiculous goal conceded from a corner is an epitaph of this team.”

Show all 50Inside Mundo Deportivo, they describe the defeat as “worse than Roma,” with back-to-back disastrous defeats to end their Champions League hopes.
Sport add that Barcelona have “written the darkest page in their history” in an “inexcusable way” at Anfield.
The Madrid press were less dejected, naturally, AS going with, “Thunder at Anfield.”
While Marca describe the loss as a “historic disaster.”
Elsewhere in Europe, the Italian press seem to have enjoyed the thriller at Anfield, with Corriere dello Sport’s headline: “Liverpboom!”
Tuttosport label Jurgen Klopp’s side as “a legendary Liverpool.”
L’Equipe, in France, run with: “Crazy Reds,” while Portugal’s A Bola concur with many English papers: “The miracle of Anfield.”
O Jogo describe it as “phenomenal.”
