Tottenham Hotspur face Apoel Nicosia on Wednesday night to wrap up what has been a fine group stage for Mauricio Pochettino’s side after beating Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund to top the table.

It is likely Pochettino will rest a number of his key players with Spurs struggling in the league as he hopes a bit of rest will remedy their domestic slump, and Nicosia present the perfect opportunity after they put three past them in Cyprus in September.

What time does it start?

The match kicks off at 7.45pm GMT at Wembley on Wednesday 6 December.

Where can I watch it?

The game will be available to watch live as part of BT Sport’s match choice offerings or you can follow along with The Independent’s live blog above.

It’s a big game for…

Dele Alli. Pochettino has already confirmed that Alli will start on Wednesday and will shoulder much of the attacking responsibility in the anticipated absence of Harry Kane, who has not looked fully fit and is expected to be given a rest.

GOAL! Liverpool 2-0 Spartak Moscow (Coutinho)

15' - Philippe Coutinho doubles his tally for the night and doubles Liverpool's lead!

Roberto Firmino shows good awareness to find his compatriot at the far post and Coutinho makes no mistake with the finish, guiding his first-time left-footed effort back across goal and into the far corner.

GOAL! Liverpool 3-0 Spartak Moscow (Firmino)

18' - Game over.

Spartak concede possession cheaply in midfield and Sadio Mane takes advantage, breaking forward before aiming a cross towards Mo Salah. The cross is blocked but the ball lands straight at the feet of Roberto Firmino, who guides a shot into the top corner with the outside of his right foot.

That was a lovely finish and Liverpool have been irresistible in these early stages.
