Aaron Wan-Bissaka: ‘No player has managed to pass’ Manchester United star in training

Man United’s right-back has enjoyed a good season on the pitch but his teammates are equally impressed by him in training

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has already started to justify the £50 million paid for him to Crystal Palace but his Manchester United teammates have been left equally impressed during training.

The 22-year-old has been an integral part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, making 4.4 tackles per game, the second most in the Premier League.

That tenacity stems from the training ground it seems, as former United midfielder Darren Fletcher has lifted the lid on how teammates have been left exasperated by his competitiveness each day.

“I was talking to some Manchester United players, and they were saying that no player has managed to pass Wan-Bissaka in training this season,” Fletcher told Norway’s TV2.

“It’s as if he refuses to let them pass. He has to get better technically, but he is a fantastic full-back. When he gets better technically, he’s going to take his game to a new level.

“He is a fantastic defensive player and contributor for Manchester United.”

Wan-Bissaka impressed his manager during the Manchester derby, scooping the man of the match award in the win at the Etihad.

“Aaron is playing against…it’s [Raheem] Sterling out there, it’s [Riyad] Mahrez out there, it’s [Kevin] De Bruyne out there. And they just don’t go past him,” Solskjaer remarked.

“Absolutely top class, top notch. We know why we have signed these three players. They fit perfectly into the way I want to play football and the coaches how we want to play football and how the club wants to play. They’re humble lads, hard-working, great values.”
