Manchester United transfer news: Alexis Sanchez has no regrets over Old Trafford move after joining Inter Milan
The Chilean has moved to the San Siro on a season-long loan 18 months after his big move from Arsenal
Alexis Sanchez has no regrets about his failed Manchester United move after joining Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
The Chilean has endured a woeful 18 months at Old Trafford, scoring just five goals in 45 appearances and failing to justify wages thought to be worth up to £400,000 per week.
But the former Arsenal star is not resentful, despite struggling to contribute, standing by his desire to join United at the time.
“I’m very happy I went to Manchester United,” Sanchez told BBC Sport. “I’ve always said that. It’s the club that’s won the most in England.
“When I went to Arsenal it was fantastic – I was happy there – but United were growing at the time, they were buying players to win something.

Sanchez admits he struggled for rhythm at United under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who both failed to give him a sustained run in the team.
“I think that I’m happy when I play for my national team,” the Chilean added.
“I was happy at Manchester United too, but I’ve always said to my friends: I want to play.
“If they would let me play I’ll do my best. Sometimes I’d play 60 minutes then I wouldn’t play the next game – and I didn’t know why.”
