Manchester United have agreed a €21m (£19m) fee with Atalanta for Amad Diallo, with an additional €20m (£18.5m) in add-ons.

Diallo, also known as Amad Traoré, will join in January subject to passing a medical, agreeing personal terms and securing a work permit.

The 18-year-old Ivorian is rated as one of the most exciting prospects in Italian football despite only making three senior appearances.

Diallo scored on his debut for Atalanta last season having risen through the Bergamo outfit's academy and has been scouted extensively by his new club.

United are understood to have first become aware of Diallo in 2016 and the young winger has been tracked by the Old Trafford club ever since.

Diallo was on the verge of joining Parma on loan for the 2020-21 season until a few days ago, at which point United stepped in to secure the signing.

The potential €41m outlay on Diallo represents a significant show of faith in the teenager's ability from United.

Diallo’s arrival is due to be followed by the capture of Penarol’s 18-year-old winger Facundo Pellistri, who is set to join in a £10m deal.
