Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe has joined Huddersfield Town on loan until the end of the season.

Smith Rowe broke into the first-team squad under Unai Emery last season, starring in the group stages of the club's Europa League campaign before joining RB Leipzig on loan.

However, he was restricted to just three Bundesliga appearances due to a lingering groin injury, which also prevented him from leaving Arsenal on loan this summer.

The England U17 World Cup winner signed a five-year contract extension in the summer of 2018 and is highly regarded by Freddie Ljungberg, with the then still caretaker manager starting Smith Rowe in his final game in charge against Everton.

Smith Rowe had attracted interest from several clubs, both in the Premier League and in the Championship, before Huddersfield convinced Arsenal that they were the ideal option for his development, namely due to assurances over game time.

Tyreece John-Jules has also left the club on loan, while Eddie Nketiah is on the verge of a departure having been recalled from his spell at Leeds over a lack of minutes, with Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest vying for the striker.
