Oscar’s move to Shanghai SIPG looks all but certain to go ahead after the Brazilian stated he is “90% certain” the transfer will be formalised in January.

It was reported on Tuesday afternoon that the Chinese Super League club had formalised its interest in the 25-year-old and tabled an offer in the region of £60m.

With the midfielder currently out of favour at Stamford Bridge and seemingly surplus to requirements under manager Antonio Conte, it’s believed Chelsea are ‘ready’ to sanction the sale.

And speaking to Brazilian media outlet globo.tv, Oscar confirmed that the two clubs are now in discussion.

"It just depends on a few bureaucratic details," the midfielder said.

A move would reunite Oscar with former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, who is now in charge at Shanghai and known to be an admirer of the player after launching a bid to bring him to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2012.

Despite rival interest from Guangzhou Evergrande, managed by Luiz Felipe Scolari, Villas-Boas allegedly remains confident of landing the player.

Having drifted to the periphery of the Chelsea squad in recent months, Oscar has played only 36 minutes this season under Conte.

With the prospect of a fresh start, guaranteed first-team football and a multi-million bumper package, Oscar is believed to be open to the prospect of moving to China.

If the deal is finalised, the Brazilian will become the most expensive player to leave the club since his compatriot David Luiz joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2014 for £40m.

Oscar has played 202 games for Chelsea since joining from Internacional for £25m in 2012, scoring 38 goals, and has won the Premier League, Europa League and League Cup.
