Football in Brief: Keane swaps Spurs for Galaxy

Robbie Keane last night completed a £3.5m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to LA Galaxy. The Republic of Ireland international moves to the MLS side on a two-year deal.

"I am delighted, honoured and excited to be joining," the 31-year-old striker, who links up with David Beckham, said. "I have always wanted to play in MLS. It's a dream come true." Keane scored 123 goals in 306 games at White Hart Lane, but struggled to hold down a starting place during his second spell with the club. He has also played for Leeds United, Celtic, Liverpool and Internazionale.

Maiga desperate for 'dream' move

Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga has expressed his desire to leave France and join Newcastle as the St James' Park side seek to increase their attacking options.

"I want it to be done with Newcastle," the 23-year-old Mali international said. "I met everybody, they want me and it is not any club. England is a dream. I want to leave, it is necessary that the president agrees to negotiate. I do not want to quarrel with Sochaux. I will respect my contract. The ball is in the court of Sochaux."

Rangers reject bid for rated Wylde

Rangers have rejected a bid of around £400,000 from Bolton Wanderers for their highly-rated midfielder Gregg Wylde. The 20-year-old is in the final year of his contract and the Scottish champions have knocked back Bolton's attempts.

"I don't know who has been touting or hawking Gregg around England but people tell me he has been," Rangers manager Ally McCoist said. "If that's the case we would be very disappointed."

Grayson bolsters attack with Keogh

Leeds United have moved to strengthen their attack following their poor start to their Championship campaign.

Wolves striker Andy Keogh has joined on loan until January, while former Chelsea and Birmingham striker Mikael Forssell is having a trial.

Simon Grayson's side have lost both their Championship games, scoring just once.
