Juan Cuadrado gives Cristiano Ronaldo his Juventus squad number
The Colombian was happy to hand over the number 7 to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner
Juan Cuadrado has handed over his squad number to superstar arrival Cristiano Ronaldo to help smooth the Portuguese's arrival at Juventus.
The Colombian winger has been outstanding for the Bianconeri since joining from Chelsea but despite the cachet of the famous number 7 shirt, Cuadrado was more than happy to hand it over to Ronaldo - a player who can bring an untold marketing boost to Juve if he is reunited with the number that features so prominently in his CR7 branding.
"Sometimes it is nicer to give than to receive. Congratulations and welcome Cristiano" he wrote on his Instagram.
Cuadrado is currently on holiday after playing for Colombia at the World Cup.
Juventus have already increased the following on their social media accounts by over 2.5m people since announcing Ronaldo's arrival.
The 33-year-old forward cost the Italian champions £90m and his four-year contract will cost them a further £53m per year in gross salary taking the total to around £350m.
Ronaldo's signing should, however, allow the club to close the gap to its European competitors in terms of off-field revenues.
