Alexis Sanchez unveiled as Manchester United player

Manchester United are yet to make their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred official, according to reports.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from rivals Manchester City this month, who could yet reach an arrangement with Shakhtar that sees the midfielder arrive in the summer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United are also interested in Fred but are yet to bid for the player, despite their need for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Axel Tuanzebe is set to swap Old Trafford for Villa Park on a temporary basis.

The Express and Star report that the 20-year-old's move to Aston Villa will be confirmed on Thursday, with Tuanzebe joining fellow United loanee Sam Johnstone in the west Midlands.

Despite being highly-rated at United, Tuanzebe's opportunities have been limited this season, with just five appearances in all competitions.

One player who will not be leaving this month at least is Luke Shaw.

As The Independent exclusively reported, the left back's recent form while filling in for the suspended Ashley Young has earned him a stay of execution.

Jose Mourinho was monitoring both Alex Sandro and Danny Rose at the start of the window but Shaw's recent improvement has convinced the United manager that a new face is not urgently needed.
