FA Cup fourth-round highlights: United and City progress but Spurs are out

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not expect any players to leave Manchester United before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

United have had a quiet January transfer window to date, with no incomings or outgoings thus far.

Solskjaer was not expected to add to the squad at any point this month and has now suggested that no players will be sold or sent out on loan either.

Out-of-favour full-back Matteo Darmian has been attracted interest from Inter and Juventus in his native Italy while Andreas Pereira has been linked with a loan move.

“At the moment, I can see everyone staying at the club,” he said. “No deals have been done with anyone but there are still a few more days.

“I’m not too involved in the negotiations so whatever happens happens. It’ll be good to get the window closed so we can focus on improving the players in the squad still here.”

On Pereira specifically, Solskjaer said: “No I can’t see him going out on loan because Andreas has done fantastic in training ever since I came back.”

“He’s a player I can see playing quite a few games for us towards the end of the season.”

Solskjaer will hope to extend his 100 per cent start and win his ninth consecutive game when United play Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
