The Fulham defender Chris Smalling's £10m transfer to Manchester United has gone through after the player made the definitive decision to sign for them yesterday after a medical. Arsenal attempted to change his mind but were rebuffed. He will join United in the summer.

Pompey bring in former Gunner

Portsmouth have signed former Arsenal striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from Spartak Moscow on loan for the rest of the season. The 23-year-old left the Gunners for Spartak Moscow in 2006 but has spent time at Birmingham and Cardiff.

Bolton are set to beat Birmingham, Stoke and Blackburn in the race to sign Ivory Coast striker Aruna Dindane, currently on loan at Portsmouth. The agent of Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt has dismissed interest from Juventus.

Wolves will make a final bid for Hull's Stephen Hunt. Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has alerted clubs to his availability claiming: "I don't mind where I go, as long as I get more playing time."
