Guinea Hunter: Highly progressive. Disqualified from 3rd place behind Cubism at Haydock. Earlier beat smart Superior Premium on same track.

Munjiz: Narrowly second-best after a great battle with Cubism at Haydock last time and looks sure to be thereabouts again.

First Musical: Hard-working juvenile last year winning four times. Lacks a recent run.

Threat: Stepped up on lack lustre reappearance when 5th (promoted to 4th) to Cubism (Haydock). Possibly unreliable.

Bartholomew: Prolific on all-weather in the winter but handled fast turf when 3rd to Midhish Two and Cubism at Lingfield. Well beaten since.

Patriot: Useful last year but only 4th of six at Leicester last time.

Trinity: Gained a deserved first win recently but this is tougher.

Saphire: Course-and-distance winner and twice ran well in Listed races this term. 3rd to Antinnaz at Haydock last Saturday.

Bon Ami: Badly hampered behind Cubism at Haydock last time. Held by the handicapper.

Pips Magic: Running well - promoted 3rd to Cubism and Munjiz at Haydock. Should go well.

Champagne Rider: Decent soft-ground two-year-old in 1998 but now caught by the handicapper.

Entwine: Chased home Munjiz and Mitcham first time out but was only 3rd next time (slowly away). Worth another chance.

Fearby Cross: Well beaten this term. Winner on soft last year.

Candleriggs: First-time-out winner at Kempton and good 2nd at Newbury latest. Type to improve. Hails from stable in form.

Present Laughter: Early-season 5f winner at Warwick but ran out of gas when 2nd over 7f at Haydock. Now back in distance.

Alegria: Lightly raced and shaped nicely when 2nd to Magic Rainbow on handicap and seasonal debut at Kempton (course record) last month. Very likeable filly and will go close.

Pepperdine: May need restraining to get trip. 2nd to Amaranth (but first home on stands side) at Newcastle last week. Trainer an expert with sprinters.

Princely Dream: Fast-finishing 3rd to Mitcham and Pips Magic at Newmarket. Looks spot-on.

Alastair Smellie: Never landed a blow behind Achilles Star over 7f at Epsom last week and may find them going too fast here.

Amaranth: Well drawn when beating Pepperdine at Newcastle - pair split by width of the track. Earlier placed over 5f and this seems his ideal trip.

Corndavon: Decent placed efforts last year but still a maiden.

Abbajabba: Made little show behind Amaranth and Pepperdine at Newcastle.

Royal Preview: Won four times on the all-weather during the winter but now finding life tougher.

Conclusion: ALEGRIA is lightly raced and looks a filly to follow. Princely Dream caught the eye at Newmarket and Pepperdine hails from a shrewd stable.
