Sports letter: Hartson at fault
Sir: So Ian Wright believes it is disgraceful that John Hartson should be disciplined and face an FA misconduct charge. Surely a case for a one-to-one reality check?
Most supporters are sickened by the tarnished image certain players are giving the game and if Hartson's thuggery does not warrant an assault charge then I really don't know what does.
Isn't kicking a fellow professional or anyone else come to that, somehow or other, his fault? Or is our grip on reality now so slippery that pampered footballers are now a law unto themselves? In my view thugs like Hartson should now be facing a custodial sentence and nothing less, Mr Wright.
