Wimbledon Day 11: Anderson beats Isner as Djokovic leads Nadal

Novak Djokovic has won his fourth Wimbledon title today after he beat Kevin Anderson in the men’s singles final.

Both finalists played record-breaking, energy-sapping five-set semi-finals to reach the tournament's finale. But Anderson's six-hour-36-minute duel with John Isner at least finished on the day it started on Friday.

Djokovic's thriller against long-time rival Rafael Nadal lasted a mere five hours 15 minutes, but only three sets of that could be completed before the Wimbledon curfew at 11 pm on Friday, and the pair had to come back on Saturday to finish off before the women's final.

But the Serb had enough in the tank to see off the South African in three sets.

Djokovic warms up

Just 30 minutes until Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson meet each other on centre court. Have a close look at Djokovic warming up on Court 7, his forehand was a little off yesterday against Nadal and he will be determined to get it back to its best this afternoon.

Wimbledon final record

Novak Djokovic has played in four Wimbledon finals, losing just one to Andy Murray in 2013. This will be the Serbian's 22nd Grand Slam final, and by contrast, this will be Kevin Anderson's second final after losing the US Open in 2017.

These two have played each other just six times before, with Anderson winning their first meeting in 2008. Djokovic did beat Anderson here at Wimbledon in 2015. A round of 16 match in a five set match finished 6-7 6-7 6-1 6-4 7-5 in the Serb's favour.

Kevin Anderson vs Novak Djokovic

Kevin Anderson will be serving first this afternoon. Novak Djokovic is the better player once the ball is in play, but Anderson will be very keen to make sure the rallies are kept as short as possible, his big serves and powerful forehands is brace and something which troubles the best.

Kevin Anderson vs Novak Djokovic

15-15

A long rally ends with Djokovic hitting a return a touch too long as Anderson keeps control. On another second serve Djokovic is bold and attacking. He is finding those early, cutting, shots to the side of the court which has Anderson scrambling.

Kevin Anderson 0-1 Novak Djokovic

Anderson comes close to the net and delicately places the ball over the net after Djokovic returns, but follows that point with a misplaced shot along the line then an error to hand Djokovic a break point.

At 30-40, Anderson produces a double-fault and Djokovic has an early break of serve.

Kevin Anderson 0-1 Novak Djokovic

I don't want to say it too early, and it is really stating the obvious, but Anderson is looking pretty tired. His movement around the baseline looks lethargic and if Djokovic can get him moving around the court, this could be a shorter than expected match.
