NBA draft 2016: What is it, what time does it start and where can I watch it?
Everything you need to know about this year's draft
What is it?
The NBA draft is an annual event in which the 30 teams of the National Basketball Association take turns to pick from 60 players who wish to join the league.
The vast majority of these players are talented youngsters who are coming out of college basketball in search of a professional contract.
Teams pick according to the draft order which is drawn up earlier in the year and favours those sides which performed poorly in the previous season.
What can we expect?
The two top picks this year will be Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram and the lucky ‘franchise’ which gets to pick between the pair is the Philadelphia 76ers.
It’s unclear which of the pair the 76ers will plump for – Ingram has trained with them, but Simmons recently posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing a Philadelphia basketball jersey.
Whoever isn’t selected first up will almost certainly be taken by the Los Angeles Lakers, who have the first round’s second pick.
What time does it start?
The 2016 NBA draft begins at midnight BST (7.00pm ET).
Where will it be held?
This year's draft will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
How do I watch it?
UK viewers can watch it on BT Sport 2 or via an ‘NBA LEAGUE PASS’, which can be acquired from www.nba.tv
