Amy Dowden shares “truth” about breast cancer in chemotherapy update

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has shared “the truth” behind her breast cancer journey with a detailed video showing what happens when she has chemotherapy treatment.

In a post marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the dancer shared a clip of her treatment which showed her receiving medication through a port before beginning a session of chemo.

Dowden said she has regular injections into her stomach to stop her body “feeding” the cancer, and will have to inject herself for five years.

“There’s no textbook to how you deal with cancer and it’s important to support those going through it their way,” Dowden said.
