Thousands of starlings appear to take the form of a whale soaring in the sky

Thousands of starlings flying in the sky appeared to take on the form of a whale soaring through the sky.

This footage shows the stunning moment when the birds banded together leaving the amazing effect over Northumberland.

Julie Collister, 63, filmed the natural phenomenon as she travelled through the village of Wall.

“It went on for ages and was just mesmerising to watch,” she said, adding the “shapes they formed were amazing.”
