Independent verified footage shows plane wreck believed to be carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin

Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin is thought to be among 10 people killed in a plane crash in Russia.

Footage shows the flaming wreckage after a private jet crashed on Wednesday evening.

The Independent has verified these videos as being a flight number RA-02795, which took off on Wednesday 23rd August around 65km northwest of Moscow.

Prigozhin’s fate has been the subject of intense speculation ever since he mounted a short-lived mutiny against Russia’s military leadership in late June.
