Letter: Foggy logic

I FIND it difficult to understand why motorists "think they are driving far more slowly than they actually are in foggy conditions" (report, 2 April) and that this is held to be responsible for many of the accidents which occur in foggy weather, when they have only to glance at their speedometer. The fog is outside the vehicle, not inside.
